Simple Beginnings

Professor Lawrence Boo started The Arbitration Chambers in 1996, at which point he committed his availability full-time as an independent arbitrator. The Arbitration Chambers thus became Singapore’s first independent firm of professional arbitrators. In order to maintain the highest level of independence and neutrality, our residents undertake not to represent any party in any dispute before any court or tribunal.

As part of his vision, Professor Lawrence Boo hopes that The Arbitration Chambers would encourage and build up more young legal professionals in Singapore to join its ranks as arbitrators, contributing to Singapore’s niche and thought leadership in international dispute resolution.

From a one-man arbitration office, The Arbitration Chambers is today residence to some of Asia’s most sought-after names in arbitration, supported by a team of tribunal law clerks, case support assistants and administrative staff.
